Early Life and Background

Shah Rukh Khan, affectionately known as SRK, was born on November 2, 1965, in New Delhi, India. His father, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, was an Indian independence activist from Peshawar, and his mother, Lateef Fatima, was a magistrate and social worker. Raised in the Rajendra Nagar neighborhood of Delhi, Khan attended St. Columba's School, where he excelled in academics and sports, earning the school's highest award, the Sword of Honour. He later pursued a Bachelor's degree in Economics at Hansraj College and began a Master's in Mass Communication at Jamia Millia Islamia, which he left to pursue acting full-time. Khan honed his acting skills under the mentorship of theater director Barry John and participated in Delhi's Theatre Action Group.

Khan's acting career commenced with television, featuring in series like "Fauji" (1988) and "Circus" (1989), which garnered him recognition. His Bollywood debut came with the film "Deewana" in 1992, which was a commercial success and earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. In the early 1990s, he took on unconventional roles, portraying anti-heroes in films like "Baazigar" (1993) and "Darr" (1993), showcasing his versatility and earning critical acclaim.

The mid-1990s marked Khan's ascent to superstardom with iconic romantic roles in films such as "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" (1995), which became one of the longest-running films in Indian cinema history.
